We hope everyone had a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. We spent the last four nights in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We didn't go into this part of our trip with any expectations at all and completely fell in love with the city. Much like the U.S., Malaysia has a very diverse mix of people. There are influences from Malaysia, India, and China throughout Kuala Lumpur. It is really quite beautiful. Everyone seems to except the religious and cultural differences of the others they live with. The city also provides one of the most tremendous skylines we have seen to date including the Petronas twin towers and Kuala Lumpur tower which both rank amongst the tallest of their kind in the world.
Each one of our four days was jammed packed full of site seeing, people watching, shopping (window shopping mostly) and eating. Malaysia is known for its food and we are going to try a little bit of everything while we are here. The malls in Kuala Lumpur are extravagant with items such as $13 Toms and $10 Beats by Dre headphones (not the real thing but still pretty nice). You can purchase anything for any price. If you want the "legit" product you will pay the "legit" price. We still have at least three more cities to visit in Malaysia and if they are anything like Kuala Lumpur, we are in for a treat.
Our first Thanksgiving away from home. We ate at a buffet restaurant called Eccucino in Prince Hotel. They served turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries and other traditional dishes as well as seafood, sushi and others. Then came the dessert tray which is what finally put us out for the count.

The plan for day two was to skip breakfast and lunch with the possibility of dinner at the end of the day. Without having to eat a meal, we were able to fill our day with other things like taking a stroll around the city

Day four- Batu caves about 14 KM from Kuala Lumpur city center. This is something you should see if you are in Kuala Lumpur. There is a beautiful 42 meter tall Hindu statue in front of the entrance to the caves which is reason to visit alone, but the real stars are under a meter tall and very very entertaining

And without further ado, let me introduce...the monkeys.

All of the monkeys were really cute, but the people would feed them and taunt them. Some of the animals got a little aggressive at times and justifiably so. These ones were considering taking the taunters' faces off
Monkeys love food and people love feeding the monkeys, a symbiotic relationship

We are having a blast in Malaysia and are looking forward to trekking around the tea plantations and strawberry farms in Cameron highlands next. We miss you guys!
