Instanbul, Turkey- Crossing the Continental Border

Merhaba to all,

We are currently on a night bus heading to Cappadocia, Turkey. We have spent the last six days in Istanbul dodging people and listening to the tranquil sound of honking horns. That being said, we also got to enjoy the sites below which more than made up for the madness of being in this large high paced city.

The outside of Hagia Sophia- the most famous church/ mosque turned museum in Istanbul

Hagia Sophia- from the inside

Muslim and Christian history- both remain intact

The Blue Mosque

Mila about to move the mosque to a new location

Possible picture of the trip candidates

The Basillica Cistern

Medusa heads- there is only speculation as to why one is sideways and the other upside down

Taksim Square- this area is the Times Square of Istanbul or so they say

I'm on a boat- our trip to the princess islands (Buyukada) via ferry

There were no motorized vehicles allowed on the island we visited. Most people explored via horse and carriage. We explored via foot and Teva.

The sun setting for our return home

The many mosques in Istanbul that highlight the skyline

The hustle and bustle of the city. At times it could be a notch overwhelming

Stray kittens everywhere but the cutest lived in our hostel

Chillin' on Hagia Sophia

From the inside of mosques we saw

Food

Who ate the other two pieces?!?!

We should probably start eating healthier

The Hippodrome

Galata Bridge and Galata Tower- separating Istanbul, Europe from Istanbul, Asia. Fishermen line the entire bridge. You would think the fish would wisen up and swim elsewhere

And my personal favorite- Mila on a squirrel

Well off to Cappadocia. We miss everyone!

Until next time,
-Mila and Scott
