Our French Family

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in posting our most recent adventures. We are currently in Florence, Italy with Ryan and Julita and are lacking consistent wifi connection.

Last week we were in Strasbourg, France. We were lucky enough to get to share the home of our dear friends Jeff and Ilona. Thank you to both of you for making our visit so incredible. You guys made us want to move in with you and never leave. You truly allowed us to experience Alsatian culture and we can't wait to repay your kindness someday soon. Each day was filled with relaxation, site seeing, and incredible cuisine. Here are some pictures from our stay. There were so many great moments, but here are a few highlights from our trip. MERCI BEAUCOUP, DANKE SEHR, DJIEKUJE BARDZO, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! (Ilona speaks French, German, Polish and English). I speak one language, but i can say hello in five or six which basically makes me fluent. Please enjoy the following pictures.

Just looking at all these pictures makes me miss Strasbourg, but I know we will be back someday. Our next post will be from Florence, Italy and then on to Venice for six days. Stay tuned for more fun and excitement and remember to live your dreams whenever possible!

Hospitality in The Netherlands

We are currently in Strasbourg, France with our friends Jeff and Ilona. We arrived here on Sunday the 9th at 12:15 AM and are due in Florence, Italy on the 15th to rejoin Julita and Ryan.

Our time in The Netherlands over the last week was incredible. We spent time in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Delft, Scheveningen and Brielle. We will truly miss the family that we stayed with. Erik, Gosia, Eva, Daniel and Elja were the greatest hosts that we could have asked for. They really gave us the full Holland experience. We ate many bags of stroop waffles (waffles with caramel like syrup), poffertjes (little Dutch pancakes), Herring, and large pancakes with bacon and cheese cooked into the pancake! All were delicious and nutritious. We saw the massive windmills, the extensive water systems, and the biker friendly cities throughout Holland. We can't wait to go back and visit already. Dank u wel (thank you in Dutch) to all of you guys who gave us such a wonderful experience that we will not soon forget.

I hope everyone is doing well. We are healthy and happy and awaiting more adventures,

Chocolates, Beer, and Waffles

What country is known for these three things. If you guessed The Netherlands you are incorrect. The correct answer is Belgium and we made sure to sample each on our day trip to Antwerp, Belgium. Leaving from Spijkenisse, Holland by car, it took us one and a half hours to get all the way into a major city of another country. The Dutch people can drive into four or five countries in a single day!

Right now we are staying with a great family; Erik, Gosia, and their daughter Eva. They made us feel at home since the moment we arrived. We will be here until Saturday when we make our way to France to visit our newly married friend Jeff. So far, The Netherlands has been a very nice stay. We have been able to relax and enjoy the company of the family we are staying with. We have upcoming plans to visit Amsterdam on Monday and Rotterdam later in the week. Both should be very enjoyable. Stay tuned for more adventures.
